Jitters

The Surrey International Writer’s Conference is coming up soon! And boy do I have the jitters. My husband takes special delight in reminding me how many days I have left to prepare right before I drop off to sleep. I have a manuscript ready, and I’m working on my pitch. I’ve got business cards and business clothes… but I don’t feel ready. I’m starting to realize I’ll never be ready.

A strange line to walk don’t you think? Believe in your work but be realistic, be assertive but never pushy. I’ve come to the realization that I probably won’t sell a book at my first conference- I’ve decided that my conference goal will be to learn as much as I can and grease the wheels for future submissions to editor and agents.

Be memorable but not scary memorable… and let your work speak for itself.

Right, *breathe* that’s what I’ll do.

About cjgosling

I paint, I sing, I walk in the rain. I'm clumsy and I love the smell of campfire. My head is full of imaginary things and the only thing I ever really want to do in life is write. My first book "Shadowlands: The Guardian" was released in Feb. 2011. The sequel is coming in 2012! View all posts by cjgosling
