“She stood daintily over the crushed wildflowers, hands on her hips, her elbows stuck out at right angles. Her skin was paper-white and her eyes green as holly leaves. Dressed in bright green with hair the color of a stoplight, she looked like Christmas done up in a tight and quivering package.”

This is Tavin’s first impression of Aria. Despite a few explosive misunderstandings and Aria’s turbulent temper, she remains a faithful friend (and elusive love interest) throughout the Gateworld series.

She’s got a chip on her shoulder, and the magic to back it up. Aria’s father Barmoth is one of the greatest fairy Mages in Gateworld, but is unwilling to train a girl to take his place.

With her magic growing, Aria is getting desperate. She’s ready to go anywhere, do anything, and break as many rules along the way as she can to get what she wants- even if it means befriending a human.
